Role and Responsibilities
A Service Technician troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, and installs HVAC and related equipment as assigned. They assume day to day coordination of specific agreements or projects as assigned to assure contractual commitments are met in a timely, cost effective manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting:
Follow point by point troubleshooting guides to find faults in a short period of time.
Possess the ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
Check complete system before leaving the job in order to avoid needless callbacks.
Seek out help if needed to solve the problem before leaving the job.
Customer Relations:
Inform the customer when arriving at or leaving the job along with when planning to return if needed.
Explore the customer complaint to determine the problem and find a resolution.
Tactfully instruct the customer on proper use of the system when problems are caused by customer error.
Give assurance to customer that the problem is fixed; explaining cause and remedy; and if the problem has not been fixed offer explanation of situation and suggest next step
Time Management/Planning:
Demonstrate ability to accurately determine job priorities by adhering to planned call schedule, scheduling report time concurrent with jobs, handling interruptions in stride, having the proper tools, materials, and scheduled tasking when arriving at the job site. scheduling vehicle maintenance.
Work with project sales and dispatch to assure service representatives and material are on the job at the right time.
Communication:
Promptly and accurately complete all required workorder information digitally or on paper.
Keep manager informed of any customer concerns.
Communicate information to all parties as needed.
Sales Assistance
Provide sales with qualified leads
Alert sales about competitive sales efforts
Look for SPOT opportunities in support of meeting Operational team goals
Determine who in the customer’s organization is responsible for the mechanical system being serviced
Discuss with customer to replace obsolete/outdated systems and make recommendations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Keep technical knowledge up to date regarding equipment and concepts
Ability to search out and read applicable manuals and online sources.
Ability to assist other service representatives in solving problems
Ability to find a solution when presented with a problem, and whether to repair or replace.
Demonstrate the capability of handling heavy workload of calls
Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication
Work Environment
Must be able to work in high pressure situations facing strict deadlines
Hours may exceed 40 hours per week to effectively perform this position

Education Requirements
HVACR, Boilers experience
Universal CFC License
