Objective
The Project Engineer Intern is responsible for helping with the design, configuration, and operation of complete building automation systems to meet the intent of the project requirements. The Project Engineer Intern helps develop complex software programs, commissions and troubleshoots to ensure proper operations of the building control system. He/she also provides detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, and subcontractors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Helps design and configure technically complex building control systems as defined by the contract documents. Helps creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bills of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required.
· Assists in developing and testing software programs necessary to operate the system per the intent of the project requirements.
· Helps coordinate the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
· Assists in selecting, ordering, and tracking the delivery of materials for assigned projects. Helps coordinate factory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedule.
· Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required. Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
· Provides field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software.
· Helps keep MCS management, contractor, subcontractor and customer informed of job progress and issues.
· Assists in performing site-specific training for owner/operator on the total building control system.
· Participates in release meeting with project field team. Performs value engineering to provide cost effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction.
· Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

Work Environment Considerations
· Must be able to work in high pressure situations facing strict deadlines
· Must be familiar with job site safety requirements and be prepared to wear a hard hat, work boots and goggles at potentially hazardous job sites.
· Work on construction sites will typically have more challenging access and terrain

Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Obtaining an education to achieve a Construction Management or Construction, Mechanical, Civil, or General Engineering degree preferred and/or completion of a qualified Mechanical apprenticeship program
